Happy Halloween: the Mysterious Crypt is open!

Just in time for Halloween, there's something lurking beneath the mine. 🕸️

The Mysterious Crypt is our first special event: 13 brand-new levels set in an old crypt full of tombstones, with its own map and its own spooky music.

Watch out for cobwebs

The crypt brings a new obstacle. A boulder caught in a cobweb won't swap, but it can still be matched, and one hit tears the web away. The trouble is the spider nests: if you go a move without tearing a web, a new one creeps out across the board. Keep the silk down or it'll take over.

Meet Rivet

This update also brings Rivet, a grumpy old mining robot. He walks you through each new idea as you meet it and has opinions about pretty much everything else. If you'd rather dig in peace, you can switch his chatter off in Settings.

Find your way around

There's a new home screen and chapter menu, and the Crypt sits in the new Specials section. It's open to everyone from the start, so you don't need to finish the main levels first. It's about as tough as Mountain Mine, so it suits any player.

Two new achievements

• Crypt Keeper: clear every level of the Mysterious Crypt
• Lights Out: three-star every level of the Mysterious Crypt

The Crypt is out now on Android, and it isn't going anywhere after Halloween: once it's in the game, you can play it all year round. It'll come to iPhone with the iOS release.
